Plants are the most natural and easily obtainable form of
nourishment. Many medical preparations be it pharmaceutical,
cosmetic or confectionary are now based on the science of herbal
plants which include extracts of more than one plant, their
proper extraction process, proportion of different ingredients,
processing and administration.
Observations prompted us, at INOVA, to do careful and
critical assessment and continued re assessment of the herbs
that we were cultivating .We realized that the efficacy of the
herb depended on the total effect of the plant contents rather
than one or few chemical fractions separated from the herb. Time
of collection of herbal plants, stages of growth of plant,
locality of natural occurrences or place of cultivation, all
influenced the properties of the herbal extracts. This science
